PANAMA

Closer than you think.
Richer than you expect.

One country. Two oceans. A level of cultural, natural, and historical complexity that reveals itself differently every time you return.

THE LAND

A crossroads, not a corridor.

Panama is where geography made history. The isthmus that connected two continents also became one of the most significant crossroads in the world, where indigenous communities, African heritage, European settlement, Asian migration, and the building of the Canal each left something permanent. The descendants of all of them still shape the country's food, architecture, music, and daily life today. No other country this size carries this many layers.

This same land bridge that connected two continents also separated two oceans, creating ecosystems on each coast that evolved in entirely different directions. It redirected the migration of species, animals, birds, and marine life, in ways still visible today. The distances between all of it are short. The Pacific coast, the rainforest, the Caribbean, the city, the highlands: most of it within a day of each other.

WAYS TO EXPERIENCE PANAMA

One country, several languages of discovery.

CULTURAL HERITAGE

History, gastronomy, and the modern city

Colonial squares, a canal that rewrote global trade, and a capital that now sits on Latin America's 50 Best list. Panama City carries its past and its present without contradiction, in its architecture, its kitchens, and the rhythm of its streets today.

NATURAL HERITAGE

Rainforest at the edge of everything

Watershed forest, cloud forest, lowland jungle, all within reach of a single trip. Panama's biodiversity is not remote. It begins minutes from where you are staying.

OCEAN HERITAGE

Two coastlines, four ecosystems

The Pacific and the Caribbean meet at the same narrow strip of land but behave as entirely different worlds. Each coast holds distinct bays with their own marine ecosystems, their own islands, their own rhythm, and their own species.

LIVING COMMUNITIES

Traditions still being lived, not displayed

Panama's communities, indigenous nations, Afro-descendant villages, and the traditions of the interior provinces, each maintain a living relationship with their ancestral heritage rather than a curated one.

ART, DESIGN & CRAFT

A creative scene coming into its own

Galleries, ateliers, and a design sensibility increasingly visible across the city's neighborhoods and beyond. Panama's contemporary culture deserves the same attention as its history.

COFFEE & HIGHLANDS

The most valuable coffee in the world

Panama's highland Geisha coffee holds the world record for the highest price ever paid for coffee at auction. The fincas that produce it sit at altitude, where the air changes and the pace of the day slows with it.

PANAMA CITY

Cosmopolitan at the crossroads.

One of the few capitals in the Americas where centuries of layered history sit beside one of the most distinctive skylines in the neotropics. Casco Antiguo preserves distinct historical periods, Spanish colonial, French engineering, American influence, Panamanian independence, within walking distance of each other. Ten minutes away, a metropolitan rainforest functions as part of the Canal's watershed, with wildlife visible from within city limits.

For the traveler who needs a city that operates at international standards while offering something no other Latin American capital does: this is that city. We know which hotel gives the right view at dusk. We know which table, in which restaurant, helps you understand what this place has become.

PANAMA, WHERE EVERYTHING HAS A STORY

The question is always:
what would you like to understand?

Panama has the geography to answer almost any version of that question, history, nature, culture, gastronomy, or simply stillness. The design follows from there.
